For Photographers
One-on-One Portrait Studio Mentoring Session
Ever wonder what it’s like behind the scenes of a professional portrait studio? We are now accepting applications for our hands-on, one-on-one mentoring program. If you’ve ever wanted to shadow a professional portrait photographer, pick her brain, see how she does everything, from portrait sessions to sales and proofing sessions, this is for you. No question is off limit. Leah will share with you anything you want to know about how she turned her photography hobby into a photography business that now employs both herself and her husband full time and fully supports her family.
Professional photographer Leah Severson is offering a limited number of portrait studio shadow days. Those who wish to learn from Leah will spend one or two days shadowing Leah in her Indianapolis-area portrait studio and learning everything she does. Participants will get to watch portrait sessions, portrait sales sessions, and spend time asking Leah whatever they want to know about how she runs her portrait photography studio.
Leah works with just one photographer at a time, so you can get the answers to the questions you have, instead of attending a “one size fits all” seminar or workshop that might not address your specific situation and needs. One-on-one mentoring sessions are $600 for one full day, and $400 for a second day. Please email Leah at leah.severson@gmail.com, or call the studio at 317-867-3723 for more information.
A little background on Leah…she started her portrait business about 7 years ago, and did it the way that many professional photographers do. Leah started as a “mom with a camera” while she worked a full-time job and parented two young children. She photographed her clients on-location in parks and homes, at night and on weekends. Eventually her business grew to the point where she was able to quit her job and pursue photography full time. Shortly after that, Leah opened a retail portrait studio, and eventually her husband left his full-time job to work for the studio. They now operate their studio together and it is the sole source of income for their family.
