Indianapolis baby photographer shares maternity, newborn baby and family images from Fishers, Carmel, Westfield, Noblesville and all of Indiana.
Hello! Welcome to my Indianapolis photography page. I’m glad you’re here! My photography clients are like family to me, so I feel like it’s only fair to get a little personal with you.
I married Todd, an Iowa boy, 20 years ago, and after all these years he’s still the person whose company I most enjoy. We have two daughters, Emma & Lindsay, who are old enough to tie their own shoes and brush their own teeth, but still young enough to think their mamma is cool, even though those who knew me “way back when” would probably say I never was.
It's best to schedule your session before your baby is born to ensure I have an opening for your photoshoot. However, if your baby has already arrived, that's fine too! Call 317-867-3723
The duration of your portrait session will depend on whether you've scheduled a mini photoshoot or a full portrait session and how well your baby cooperates. A full newborn photoshoot can take up to 3 hours, although this is rare. Most newborn portrait sessions take about 90 minutes.
Newborns who are sleepy and have full tummies cooperate the most for photographs.
To allow me to take the best pictures of your new baby, please keep him or her awake for at least one hour before the scheduled photo session so he's nice and sleepy when it's time for his photoshoot. Giving your baby a bath is a great way to keep him awake and wear him out at the same time.
You will receive a link to an online portrait gallery within two weeks of your baby's photoshoot. The gallery will show all your proofs so you can select your favorite baby pictures from the comfort of your home.
Your newborn portraits will be taken at my studio located about 30 minutes from Indianapolis.
It's best if I photography your newborn baby when she is around two to three weeks old. But don't panic if you've missed that window. I'm sure your baby pictures will be beautiful regardless of your baby's age.
You don't need to bring any outfits, wraps, or blankets to your newborn photoshoot. I have all the props, wraps, outfits, hats, and headbands for your perfect newborn portrait session. My outfits are specifically designed to be worn during a newborn photoshoot.
You can add immediate family members to your newborn portrait session at no additional cost. However, our mini newborn session is baby only and does not include pictures with parents or siblings.
Family clothing for your newborn photoshoot should be super simple. Stay away from very dark or very light-colored clothing. Also avoid clothing with stripes, pagpatterns, text or large logos as this can be distracting in your pictures. For siblings, I also recommend simple, solid-colored clothing, and something that looks nice when they're sitting criss-cross applesauce on the floor.Â
Some babies need to stop for a snack during their newborn portrait sessions. Others sleep right through it without stopping for a meal. You should come to the studio prepared to feed your baby, but typically if the baby has been awake for awhile then fed right before the photoshoot, a meal is not necessary. Â
Your edited photo gallery will be delivered online within three weeks after you are done selecting your favorite pictures.
Yes. I will edit your newborn portraits to remove acne, flaky skin from the face, and scratches. I'll also adjust brightness, color, and contrast where necessary. I do not edit out the typical newborn peeling skin on the rest of baby's body. For mom and dad, I'll soften any wrinkles and undereye bags, whiten teeth, remove acne, etc.
Extended family cannot be added to a newborn portrait session. However, I'm happy to book a separate session so you can get pictures of your relatives with your new baby.
There is space in my portrait studio for two adults to sit comfortably during the newborn photoshoot. If both parents are not able to attend the portrait session, you are welcome to bring another adult with you. Â
Please bring a bottle, even if you're breastfeeding. Sometimes baby needs to be topped off when he is in a prop, and nursing is not an option for these situations. Also please bring a pacifier if your baby uses one. And of course, a burp cloth, diapers, and baby wipes too.
You may take pictures and/or video of me photographing your baby if you are willing to allow me to use those pictures and video too. However, you may not take any pictures of your baby by herself while she is in the studio. Thank you for your understanding.
You'll pay a $50 deposit when you call to schedule your newborn photoshoot. You can pay the balance of your session on the day of your photoshoot. Â
I accept all major credit cards, personal checks, and cash. However, I cannot make change. Please keep in mind that I do charge 7% sales tax so if you are bringing cash, be sure to factor that into your balance.
I'm excited to meet you and see if we have availability for your newborn baby. As soon as you're ready to schedule, please call me at the studio and I will check availability. 317-867-3723.
No worries! Sometimes babies are awake for their newborn photoshoots. Seems like they just don't want to miss anything! As long as your baby is content and not crying, we can carry on with the portrait session. However, awake babies tend to want to do their own thing, so there may be some poses we may not be able to do if your baby is wide awake. My photography sessions are lead by your baby. That means I won't try to force her into a pose that is clearly not comfortable for her. However, a sleepy baby is typically easily posed, so make sure you do everything you can to keep your newborn awake prior to their photoshoot so she's nice and sleepy when you arrive at the studio.
