Baby Daniel’s Newborn Portraits | Carmel, IN
Little Daniel came to my Carmel, Indiana portrait studio for his newborn photoshoot, and he brought along his whole crew—Mom, Dad, big sister Hannah, and big brother Jack. It was such a sweet and fun morning. I love when families come together to celebrate a new baby, and Daniel’s session was full of love, smiles, and special moments.
We started off the session with family portraits. These are always some of my favorite images to capture. Hannah and Jack were wonderful with their new baby brother. Hannah gave the softest smiles, and Jack looked so proud. It was clear that Daniel is already very loved and that he fits right into this beautiful family. Mom and Dad were glowing, and you could tell they were soaking in every minute of this new chapter. Family portraits during a newborn session are so important because they freeze this special time in a family’s life—when everything feels new and exciting.
After family portraits, it was time to focus on Daniel’s individual newborn pictures. We started simple, with Daniel posed naked on a tiny ivory baby bed. His little hands and feet curled up so perfectly, and he slept so peacefully through it all. I love the timeless look of these setups—so pure and classic.
Next, I placed him in a cozy wicker basket with just a diaper cover. It’s always amazing to see how different each baby looks in the same setup. Daniel gave us a few sweet stretches and expressions that made everyone in the room smile. His soft features and calm nature made the session go so smoothly.
After that, we dressed him in a mint green and white striped romper and placed him in one of my favorite props—an antique wire egg basket. This little outfit paired with the vintage basket gave the portraits a nostalgic, yet modern feel. Daniel looked like a tiny doll, completely relaxed and content.
We continued with another wrapped setup. This time, Daniel was snuggled in a soft blue swaddle and placed in a wicker basket. Blue is such a sweet color for baby boys, and it brought out the natural tones in his skin beautifully.
To end the session, we wrapped Daniel in an ivory swaddle and placed him on a bed of soft ivory fur. We added a baby blue bonnet, which gave him such a charming look. He was still sound asleep and made posing him easy. It was a peaceful, cozy finish to a lovely session.
Getting to photograph newborns like Daniel is such a special part of my job. These early days go by so quickly, and I’m honored to help families in Carmel, Westfield, Zionsville, and Indianapolis preserve these memories forever. Thank you to Daniel’s family for trusting me with these first portraits. I hope you’ll treasure them for years to come.
