Baby Max came to my Carmel portrait studio for his newborn photoshoot. His parents were excited to capture this special time in their lives. They wanted photos that showed off his tiny features, soft newborn skin, and sweet expressions. They also had a few fun ideas to make the session personal and meaningful.
We started with a special outfit. Max wore a Purdue University sleep hat because his parents are big Purdue fans. They were so excited to see their little boy in their favorite team’s colors. He looked absolutely adorable in the tiny hat. These photos will be a fun memory for their family, especially if Max grows up to be a Purdue fan like his parents.
Next, we took naked newborn portraits to capture his tiny size and delicate features. He was so peaceful and calm during this part of the session. These photos always turn out so sweet because they highlight the natural beauty of a newborn. The way he curled up, just like he did in the womb, made for timeless and classic images.
After that, we dressed him in a blue diaper cover and placed him on a soft, fluffy blue fur blanket. The deep blue color looked beautiful with his dark hair. The soft texture of the fur created a dreamy and cozy setting. He looked so tiny and perfect resting there.
Then we put him in a handmade romper and posed him on a tiny baby bed. The little bed made it look like he was taking a peaceful nap in a miniature nursery. The romper was simple and timeless, making the photos look classic and elegant. His tiny hands rested near his face, creating the perfect sleepy newborn pose.
One of my favorite outfits came next. Max wore a green knit bear outfit and rested in a wicker basket. The bonnet had tiny bear ears, which made him look extra cute. This setup always creates warm and cozy portraits. The wicker basket added a rustic touch, making the pictures feel soft and natural. He slept so soundly in this setup, and it was one of the sweetest moments of the session.
To finish, we wrapped him in soft swaddles. First, he wore a gray wrap with a matching hat, then we changed him into a baby blue swaddle. Newborns love to be wrapped because it makes them feel safe and secure, just like they did before birth. These photos always have a peaceful and timeless feel.
Throughout the session, Max was awake for a little while, showing off his curious eyes. He looked around and took in his surroundings before slowly drifting off to sleep. He slept through most of the session, which made it easy to capture soft, dreamy poses. His beautiful dark hair stood out in every picture, adding even more charm to his portraits.
This session was filled with love, warmth, and sweet moments. Max’s parents now have a collection of beautiful portraits to remember these early days. Newborns change so quickly, and I am always honored to help families preserve these first precious moments. It was a joy to photograph Baby Max, and I can’t wait to see how he grows over the years.
