FAQs about Newborn Photography Mentoring
How much do you charge for one-on-one newborn photography mentoring?
The cost for a full day of newborn photography mentoring is $599. This session is custom-designed based on what you need to learn to further your newborn photography career. If marketing is your weakness, we can spend the whole day designing a marketing plan that works for you. If you need help learning safe, simple newborn photography poses that parents love, we can focus on that. Newborn posing mentoring includes poses done with an actual newborn in the studio.
How long have you been photographing newborns?
I’ve been photographing newborn babies for 20 years. I started my business shortly after my second daughter was born in 2000. Since then, my husband left his full-time job to help me run our successful portrait studio. The income from the portrait studio has been our sole source of income for the majority of the past 20 years. This is definitely not a side hustle. 🙂
What skill level do I need to have to benefit from your newborn photography mentoring?
You must be able to use a DSLR camera in manual mode. You should understand the basics of photography, f-stop, shutter speed, iso, etc. This is not a course for someone who has never used a DSLR camera before. This course is for those who know their way around the manual mode of a DSLR camera and are looking to learn newborn photography posing, lighting, and/or marketing.
What should I bring to my newborn photography mentoring session?
Bring comfortable clothes and shoes that you can shoot in and move in. You’ll be working in the studio, and we keep it warm for newborn photoshoots. You’ll also want to bring your camera and a memory card. You’ll be able to photograph and use the images from your newborn photography mentoring session on your own photography website and in the marketing of your photography business.
Will I be able to pose and handle the baby during the newborn photography mentoring session?
Yes. You will get hands-on experience handling and posing a newborn baby during your day of mentoring.
Will I learn editing during my newborn photography mentoring session?
I outsource my newborn photography editing as it is not my strong suit, so this is something I will not cover during your newborn photography mentoring session. However, there are many great online resources, workshops, videos, etc. for newborn editing and I’m happy to recommend one to you.
What happens after I complete my day of newborn photography learning with you?
Great question! You will get 30 days of follow-up email supportwhere you can answer questions related to the topics discussed during the newborn photogrpahy mentoring session. However, we will not be covering any new topics during these 30 days. This is just an opportunity to ask questions about topics covered during the mentoring session and to get clarification on these topics.
