Indianapolis Newborn Photographer
Meet beautiful newborn baby Nyla. Her parents Nick and Dheja brought her to the studio recently for her newborn photography session. I got to use my brand new – well really old – vintage quilt that I picked up at an antique store in Westfield for her newborn portraits. Nyla was just as content as can be, swaddled and wrapped, and slept peacefully during her session.
I always love to get the story of the parents, and Nick and Dheja were kind enough to tell me a little bit about their sweet family.
“Dheja and I first met when we were in junior high school together at Lincoln Middle School in Indianapolis. I was new to the school and on my first day, I saw Dheja and instantly fell in love with her. A few days later, a mutual friend introduced us and ever since then we have been in love.
When we knew we were having a girl we narrowed our list to 3 or 4 names. We both agreed we wanted our baby to have a name that started with an “N” after Nick. We looked up names on the internet everyday until we could find one that stuck. We stumbled on the name “Nyla” and loved the meaning and thought it would be perfect for our first child. The name means “Successful” or “Attainment of Desires”
The first few days and weeks of parenting have been an emotional roller coaster. Its been love, late nights, sleepless nights, laughter, exhaustion, frustration, and stinky. Being new parents has been the most emotional time of our lives. It has been a challenge but the love we have for our baby is indescribable. Every day is a new challenge for us to get better as parents and to give our baby everything she needs. We have become closer as a couple and a team. These first few weeks have been the most incredible of our lives and we are so grateful to be Nyla’s parents and that we have a healthy and beautiful baby.”
Thank you Nick and Dheja for sharing that. I hope you’re getting some sleep! And thank you for sharing baby Nyla with me. She’s gorgeous!

Love Nyla’s story
So beautiful! I love that quilt and wire egg basket. You are so creative with your backgrounds but the beauty starts with the subject. Noting more beautiful than a sleeping baby and knowing what a blessing they are from the Lord. I can’t wait to see how she grows through your lens.
