Addison’s Newborn Photoshoot | Indianapolis
Meet sweet newborn baby Addison! I had the pleasure of meeting her family when they brought her to the studio for her newborn photoshoot. I had a chance to catch up with Addison’s mom Danielle and ask her a few questions about the early days with baby Addison.
What’s your favorite thing about being a new mom?
Seeing her grow and learn new things. Like she’s just starting to smile and coo. I love seeing all those different milestones.
What’s the hardest part about being a new mom?
Probably at the beginning, it was sleep, but she’s a good sleeper now. So I guess it’s always being worried about everything.
How did you come up with her name?
My husband and I have always liked it. Just randomly. And then actually, when we bought our house, inside of her closet in her room, we found handwriting on the wall that “Hi Addison.”
Anything about parenting that surprises you?
Hmm. Everything probably. It’s honestly easier than I thought it was going to be. I think she’s a pretty easy baby. I feel like my husband and I have kind of figured it out. I thought it was going to be a little rougher transition. So far, it’s been pretty smooth.
What’s the most useful baby product you have?
Our favorite baby product is actually the Frida Snotsucker. And it’s funny because we thought it was gross. We thought it was so gross that would we never use it. But when she had a cold, it was a lifesaver. We also love our sound machine.
Any parenting books that you’ve found helpful?
We read The Happiest Baby on the Block by Harvey Karp. And then we did the Taking Cara Babies Sleep Course.
Any advice you would give to expectant moms?
Just be patient with everything. Breastfeeding is harder than you think. It all eventually works out.
Help Addison’s parents win a wall portrait!
Just scroll to the bottom of this post and leave a kind or encouraging word for the new parents. Thanks!
