What is your turnaround time?
Unless otherwise noted in a blog or social media posting, most items are made-to-order. Please allow 3-4 weeks for shipping, with the exception of the Versa™ Maternity Set. Please allow 4-6 weeks shipping for this item. It usually doesn’t take this long, but sometimes it does. 🙂 Also, if you ordered a ready-to-ship item with a made-to-order item, please know that it all ships together. Also, please note that “shipping” means “we will ship it by this date” not “you will receive it by this date.”
Can I email you for an update on the status of my order?
You can, but unfortunately I won’t be able to tell you. I don’t know when your order is going to ship, or what stage of production it is in. I print the orders, my sewists take the orders and the fabric, they return them to me when they’re done making your products, and I ship them. You’ll get a confirmation that your order is placed and a confirmation when your order ships. In between the order date and the shipping date I can’t give you updates about the status of your order other than it’s “in production and will be shipped within 4 weeks of your order date (usually faster, occasionally not).”
But wait! It says “In-Stock” when I click on the item I want. Is it still made-to-order?
Yes. The “in-stock” designation simply means that the fabric needed to make your item is in stock with my supplier and available for me to purchase. It does not mean your item is in stock in my home and RTS.
How quickly do your “Ready-to-Sell” items ship?
“Ready-to-sell” means your item is made and sitting here in our supply. We go to the post office once a week so if we’ve already made this week’s trip to the post office, your RTS item will ship when we visit the post office next week.
How long does shipping take?
All packages are shipped from Indiana, United States, via 1st Class USPS. According to the USPS website, shipping time to locations in the United States is 1-3 days.
How will I know if my order has shipped?
You will receive an email when your order has shipped. If your order is 4 weeks old and you have not received a shipping confirmation yet, please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. If it has not been four weeks, please hang tight. I promise we are working as fast as we can to get it done.
Do you ship worldwide?
We ship to most foreign countries except Germany. Shipping anywhere in the world is a flat $12. I cannot tell you how long it will take to get there. Please check with your country’s postal service for information on shipping times. HomeSewn is not responsible for any duty or charges incurred at the destination country. Please check your country’s import laws, taxes, and fees before ordering.
Do you offer rush shipping for an additional fee?
I don’t. Here’s why. If I could get your order shipped faster, then I should just do it. But I don’t think it’s fair to let people skip to the front of the line because they’re willing to pay more. Can you imagine if the Target cashier let the person behind you go in front of you because they were spending more money? Neither can I.
What happens if I don’t receive my package?
I strongly suggest that you have your package delivered to a location that has a person there to receive it. Packages left on porches are quite frequently stolen. 🙁 Once the USPS has mark your package “delivered” we consider that order delivered. Please make sure you have it shipped to a secure location.
What is your return policy?
Our shop does not accept returns. The only exception is in the case of a defective item. Upon return of the defective item, we will refund your cost to ship the defective product back to us via First Class USPS and ship another of the exact same item in the exact same size and color as the original item.
I ordered an individual wrap piece to match a previously ordered wrap set, and it’s not exactly the same color.
Wrap sets and a la carte pieces ordered together will match exactly. For instance, if you order a 5-piece wrap set and at the same time add on a barrel, all pieces of fabric will match. However, if you order a 5-piece wrap set then order an a la carte barrel a month or two later, the fabric may come from a different dye batch and might not match your original set exactly. Please be aware before you order that this can happen and that there are no returns as this is not considered a defective item.
I ordered a wrap set and the lace is not the same as the lace on a set I ordered previously.
Lace trim on our loops can vary. Sometimes our supplier runs out of a particular lace and we must substitute it with another style of lace that is similar but not identical to the lace shown in the website image.
