Lily’s Newborn Photoshoot | Westfield Baby Photographer
Meet sweet newborn baby Lily! Lily’s big sister, Rose was super excited to have a photoshoot with her new baby sister. I chatted with the girls’ mom, Rebecca, about life with a toddler and a newborn at home.
How did you choose baby’s name?
Her big sister, Rose, was named after my grandmother. My other grandmother’s name was Lillian and so we wanted to have another family name.
Anything about parenting a newborn baby that surprises you?
Lily and Rose are both like-minded and mild-temperament babies. They cry when they need something and otherwise are pretty relaxed and chill. So we’re lucky that we kind of had two babies like that.
What’s your favorite thing about being a new mom again?
And what’s the hardest thing about being a new mom again?
Definitely the lack of sleep. Plus babies require a lot of attention so that’s kind of a hard balancing act with having Rose too.
How is Rose adjusting to being a big sister?
She is doing pretty well, actually way better than I expected. She really loves the attention to be on her, but she’s okay with pausing play to feed the baby and pick the baby up and sometimes she’ll say “can you put the baby down?”
What’s a baby product that you just love?
She likes her play mat that goes on the floor that has lots of stuff that dangles under it. And it’s the same one that we use for Rose and she loves it. It’s nice because she can entertain herself, which is great when we’re trying to manage a three-year-old and a baby at the same time.
If you could tell and about to be first-time mom anything, what would it be?
I like to remind myself is just that everything is a phase, and it’s not going to be this way forever, whether it’s good or bad. So just either appreciate the moment or know that it won’t last forever.
