What is the best way to digitize old photos?
The best way to digitize old photos is to have them professionally scanned by someone who genuinely understands image quality. Smartphone apps are convenient but don’t produce results that hold up when you want to print or enlarge. A professional photo scanning service uses high-resolution equipment to capture each photo faithfully — producing files you can store, share, and print from for decades.
How much does it cost to digitize photos?
My photo scanning pricing starts at $0.40 per photo for up to 500 photos, $0.36 per photo for 501–1,000, and $0.30 per photo for 1,001 or more. There is an $80 minimum order. Digital download is always free. A USB drive is available for $12.95.
How long does photo scanning take?
Standard turnaround is one week from drop-off to pickup. Rush turnaround is available if you need your photos back sooner — contact me for pricing.
What size photos do you scan?
I scan standard printed photos up to 8×10, including 3×5, 4×6, 5×7, and 8×10 prints, as well as wallet-size photos and Polaroids.
What format will my scanned photos be in?
Your photos are delivered as high-resolution JPEG files, compatible with every device, phone, computer, and cloud storage platform — iCloud, Google Photos, Amazon Photos, Dropbox, and more.
How are my digital files delivered?
Digital files are delivered via a download link at no additional charge. If you’d prefer a USB drive, I offer that for $12.95.
Do I get my original photos back?
Always. Every original print you bring me is returned to you at pickup in the same condition you brought it.
Do I need to count my photos before dropping them off?
Yes — please have your count ready before you come in. The count is used to determine your pricing and deposit at drop-off.
Can I share my digitized photos with family members?
Absolutely — and this is one of the greatest benefits. Once your photos are digital, you can share your entire family archive with siblings, children, cousins, and grandchildren instantly via Google Photos, iCloud, or a simple download link.
