Baby Luke came to my Carmel portrait studio for his newborn photoshoot. His parents were excited to capture this special time. They also brought his two older brothers for family and sibling portraits. It was a wonderful session filled with love, laughter, and sweet moments.
We started with a classic newborn pose. Luke’s dad held him in his arms, just like he had done with his older sons when they were newborns. His parents wanted to match those past pictures. It was a beautiful way to celebrate their growing family. Luke looked so tiny and perfect in his dad’s hands. These kinds of portraits show just how small newborns are in their first days of life.
Next, I took a close-up of Luke’s tiny toes. Parents always love these little details. Baby feet are one of the sweetest things to capture. They change so quickly as babies grow. In a few months, those tiny toes will be kicking and wiggling even more. These small details are easy to forget, so I love preserving them in photographs.
After that, it was time for outfit changes. I dressed Luke in one of my favorite newborn outfits. It was a soft, knitted green romper with a matching bonnet. The bonnet had tiny ears, making him look even cuter. I placed him on a small wooden bed and gently posed him. He looked so peaceful and cozy in his little outfit.
Then we moved on to wraps. I first wrapped Luke in a soft gray swaddle with delicate bows down the front. He also wore a tiny matching sleepy hat. Wrapped babies look so warm and secure. After that, I swaddled him in a beige wrap with a matching bonnet. Newborns love being wrapped up because it reminds them of being in the womb. This is why swaddled poses often create the most calm and relaxed expressions.
Finally, we took family portraits. Luke’s big brothers were so sweet and excited. They smiled, giggled, and gave their baby brother gentle snuggles. Watching their bond was heartwarming. Mom requested that I not share their pictures online, but trust me, they turned out absolutely adorable.
This newborn session was full of love, warmth, and special memories. It was such a joy to photograph Luke and his family. These early days pass quickly, and I am always honored to help families preserve them forever. I can’t wait to see how Luke grows over the years.
