Your Baby’s First Portraits, in the Heart of Noblesville

sleeping baby in a pink knotted wrap and flower crown in a lace-lined basket, newborn photography Noblesville Indiana

The newborn stage is short, and it’s gone before most parents are ready. I’ve photographed more than 2,000 newborns over 25 years, and I built my Noblesville studio around one goal: making these first portraits easy for you and comfortable for your baby.

You’ll find me at 68 North 9th Street on the historic Noblesville Square. My studio has been here for six years, and many of my Noblesville families come back for maternity photos, baby milestone sessions, and family portraits as their little ones grow. Reserve your session.

Inside, it’s warm and quiet. Soft music and white noise play in the background, and a little lavender on my wrists helps your baby settle. Posing is always baby-led, so we go at your baby’s pace.

Every wrap, prop, and outfit is here and ready for you. Your immediate family is welcome in the Full session, and the Mini session focuses on your wrapped baby.

What Your Baby’s Newborn Photo Session Is Like

Baby-Led Posing

Every pose is baby-led. If your baby fights a pose or shows any sign of discomfort, I move on. Comfort and safety come first, every time.

A Warm, Calm Room

The studio is kept warm and cozy, with soft music and steady white noise.

A Little Lavender

I wear lavender on my wrists during newborn sessions, for your baby’s comfort and relaxation.

No Rushed Feedings

We stop for feedings, diaper changes, and cuddles. I won’t rush a feeding because we’re watching the clock.

How to Book Your Noblesville Newborn Photoshoot

  1. Reserve your date. Book as soon as you can, ideally in your second trimester. We’ll save a spot close to your due date, then move it once your baby arrives.
  2. Get your prep guide. I email you a short, simple guide. New parents don’t have time to read a lot, so it’s straight to the point.
  3. Come to the studio. Babies are sleepiest in their first two to three weeks, so that’s the best window. If your baby is already here, call me at 317-867-3723 and I’ll do my best to get you in.
  4. Choose your favorites. About two weeks after your session, you’ll get a link to your private online proof gallery. Take your time and pick your favorites.
  5. Get your finished photos. I retouch your selections and send a link to download them. You can order prints and wall art from the final gallery.

★★★★★

Leah went above and beyond to make my family’s photoshoot a success. She was warm, patient and kind. Our newborn was a bit uncooperative as he woke up during the shoot, but that did not stop Leah. She rocked and soothed our baby until he went back to sleep. Our photos came out great! I highly recommend

Leah was so great to work with for my son’s newborn photography. I knew exactly what to expect before arriving for my session (as a freshly postpartum mom this was much appreciated). Her studio was very comfortable, she handled my son with care during all of his photos, got all of her shots in a timely manner and was very quick to respond to all of my questions both before and after the shoot. Will definitely be a return client for future photos!

Leah was absolutely amazing. She was able to get all of our pictures done quickly, even though we showed up a bit late. She was extremely accommodating and let us push back our time, which was helpful considering we have a new newborn. She also let us combine our newborn shot and add a couple of family photos to include grandparents. Her photos came out, absolutely beautiful and I will definitely be using her for six month photos.

Meet Leah, Your Noblesville Newborn Photographer

Leah Severson, smiling Noblesville Indiana newborn photographer in a green wrap and beaded necklace

I started photographing babies as a girl, volunteering in my church nursery with a Kodak Disc camera. Once my own daughters came along, I couldn’t stop. I took more than a thousand film photos of my oldest in her first year alone. Twenty-five years and more than 2,000 newborn sessions later, I’m just as excited when a new baby comes through my studio door. Many of the babies I’ve photographed have grown into seniors, and a lot of those families have become dear friends.

That love is why my sessions run the way they do. Every pose is baby-led, the studio is warm and quiet, and nobody is ever rushed. I want you to leave knowing your baby was in good hands, and I want you to love every picture.

My studio has been on the Noblesville Square for six years, and I’d be honored to photograph your baby. Reserve your session.

More Questions About Newborn Sessions in Noblesville

Where do I park for my newborn session?

My Noblesville studio is at 68 N. 9th Street, right on the historic downtown square. There’s street parking nearby, so you won’t have to walk far with your baby and all that baby gear.

Can I still book if my baby is older than three weeks?

Absolutely. I typically recommend the first two to three weeks after birth, because babies are sleepier and easier to pose then, which is great for those sweet, curled-up newborn pictures. But don’t panic if you’ve missed that window. I’ve photographed plenty of older newborns, and we can still get beautiful pictures. We may just approach the session a little differently depending on your baby’s age and how cooperative they’re feeling. There is no upper limit for a baby photoshoot. Babies usually stretch out and stop doing the tucked-in newborn poses somewhere between four and six weeks, but I can get beautiful portraits of your baby at any age.

What about preemies, NICU babies, and twins?

Every baby is different, and I don’t believe in forcing a newborn session into a rigid schedule. For premature babies or babies who’ve spent time in the NICU, we’ll plan around when they’re home, healthy, and ready. There’s no reason to rush. Twins are absolutely welcome! We’ll allow extra time for feeding, soothing, and getting everyone comfortable.

What if my baby arrives early or late, or someone gets sick?

The $50 deposit is nonrefundable, but it can absolutely be transferred to a new date. Babies aren’t known for sticking to a schedule, so if yours arrives earlier or later than expected, we’ll adjust your session date. And if your baby or a sibling is sick, please let me know. We’ll reschedule for a time when everyone is feeling better. There’s no reason to bring a sick little one to a photoshoot!

What if my baby is fussy or hungry during the session?

I’ve been photographing babies for a long time, so I can promise you one thing: I’ve seen it all! Some babies sleep through practically the entire session. Others have very strong opinions about what we’re doing. Either way, we’ll be fine. We stop for feedings, diaper changes, cuddles, and whatever else your baby needs. My goal is to work with your baby, not against them. Sometimes that means changing the order of our pictures or trying a different pose. Flexibility and patience are part of the job.

How do you work with toddler siblings?

Toddler siblings are always entertaining! Some are thrilled to show off their new baby. Others would rather do just about anything else. I’ve worked with both. I keep things light, move quickly when I have their attention, and don’t make a big production out of getting them to cooperate. Sometimes a little silliness goes a long way. I like to photograph siblings with the baby early in the session, while everyone is still fresh. Then they can relax while I concentrate on the newborn portraits.

Can I bring my own blanket or special items?

Absolutely! I have plenty of wraps, outfits, blankets, baskets, and props at the studio, so you don’t need to bring anything special. But if you have something meaningful you’d like included, like a handmade blanket from Grandma, a favorite stuffed animal, or a little name sign, bring it along. I just recommend letting me know ahead of time so I can figure out the best way to include it.

When will I see my photos?

About two weeks after your session, I’ll send you a link to a private online proof gallery. You can look through the pictures at home, take your time, and choose your favorites. Full newborn sessions include 24 digital images, and mini sessions include 10. Once you’ve made your selections, I’ll professionally retouch those images and send you a link to download the finished photographs.

Do you offer newborn photography gift certificates?

Yes! A newborn photography gift certificate makes a wonderful baby shower gift, especially for parents who already have approximately 47 baby blankets and more tiny outfits than one baby could possibly wear. It’s a gift they’ll still appreciate long after the baby has outgrown all those adorable little clothes.

I don’t feel photo-ready after having a baby. Should I still be in the pictures?

First of all, you just had a baby! Nobody expects you to show up looking like you stepped out of a magazine. I hear this concern from moms all the time, and I completely understand it. But here’s what I tell them: get in the pictures. You don’t have to love every photograph of yourself. You don’t have to be back in your pre-pregnancy jeans. And you definitely don’t need to worry about posing. That’s my job. I’ll help with flattering angles, positioning, and lighting. And yes, I retouch my photographs. Years from now, your child isn’t going to look at those pictures and think about whether you had a few extra pounds or dark circles under your eyes. They’re going to love having photographs of themselves with you. So please, get in the pictures.
