It’s that most beautiful month of the year – October. The colors of Fall, and pink. Pink ribbons, pink t-shirts, banners. Please do not let the beautiful colors of fall drown out the message in those pink ribbons. It was two years ago this month that I was watching my beloved Steelers run around Heinz Field with their pink “breast cancer” tennis shoes on when I emailed myself a quick note to schedule my annual mammogram. Just a routine doctor’s appointment, just one more thing to tick off the to-do list.
Unfortunately, that “to-do” list got a lot longer after that routine mammogram. I got that call no one wants to get, telling me I had breast cancer. Thankfully, doctors caught it early, and after surgery and daily radiation treatments, I was in remission. And while the fear still lurks in the back of my mind that the cancer might come back, my latest mammogram was cancer-free.
So please, if you are a woman over the age of 40, get your mammogram. Yes, it’s a little uncomfortable, a little inconvenient, but it could save your life.

Once again this year, we’re offering our ever-popular, highly discounted School Portrait Sessions. For about the same price as you’ll pay for school pictures, you can get L. Severson Portraits during this once a year special, with package prices starting at just $40.
Here are the dates and times of this year’s School Portrait Sessions:

School Portrait FAQs
Do I need to make an appointment? No. Sessions are available on a first-come, first-served basis. No appointments will be taken.
Do I have to pay a session fee? No, there is no session fee. You will pay $40 at the time of your session, and that entire amount will go towards the purchase of your portraits.
How many images will we have to select from? Each student will have at least 3 poses to view in their online gallery.
How long does the session last? These are mini-sessions, and you can expect them to take about 5 minutes per student.
Are there any age restrictions? Yes. Your child must be enrolled in grades K-12 or home-schooled and at least 5 years old.
How will I view my images? Your images will be available in an online gallery. You will be able to view and select your images from the comfort of your home. You’ll also be able to share this gallery with family and friends, so they can purchase their own portraits if they wish.
I would like to have my children photographed together, is this possible? Sorry, these sessions are for individuals only.
May I choose different poses within a package? Each print package is one pose only except for Digital Package B, which is 3 images. You may buy multiple packages to get multiple poses, or you may buy a print package and then buy additional poses from the ala carte portrait pricing.
Directions to the studio: Take US 31 to State Road 32. Go west on SR 32 for less than one mile and you’ll see the Post Office on the left. Turn left here. At the end of the road, turn right. Your next left is Tiller Court. We are the last building on the right. It is a “U” shaped building. We are at the bottom of the “U” and there is a 5-foot tall baby in the window. Our address is 17408 Tiller Ct., Suite 100, Westfield.

Two things my kids love – getting mail (not email, but good old fashioned snail mail) and getting encouragement from their mom and dad.
So I came up with Positive Postcards. It’s a way you can quickly and easily send a personalized word of encouragement to someone you love.
