FAQs About Your Indianapolis Boudoir Photography Session
Where will my boudoir photographs be taken?
Boudoir sessions can be done at my Indianapolis-area portrait studio. The building was built in the 1800s and features stunning vintage brick, original hardwood floors, and even a vintage fireplace. It is the perfect backdrop to your beautiful boudoir portraits.
I don’t know how to pose for boudoir photographs
That’s ok – I do! I’ve been photographing boudoir clients for nearly a decade. I know how to put you in poses that will flatter your figure, show off your best assets, and hide the things you don’t want to see.
I have chunky thighs, saggy boobs, fat calves, stretch marks…can you make me look good?
None of us has a perfect body. Even supermodels get Photoshopped to perfection. I will pose you in a way that is flattering for you and enhance your images in Photoshop after they are taken. This includes airbrushing skin, removing acne, softening stretch marks and wrinkles, whitening teeth, etc.
I’m afraid I’ll be nervous and uncomfortable and it will show in my boudoir portraits.
Everyone’s a little nervous at first. But I promise you will have a good time, and by the end of your boudoir photoshoot, you’ll feel like a rock star.
Can I bring a friend with me to my boudoir photography session?
Sure! Bring a girlfriend, a boyfriend, your husband, a bottle of wine, your favorite music. You’ll feel better and you’ll have more fun.
What about hair and makeup for my boudoir photography session – is it included?
Hair and makeup styling are not included in your boudoir portrait session. However, I highly recommend having your hair and makeup professionally styled before your session. This not only makes you look your absolute best, but it will also give you more confidence, which means sexier, more wonderful portraits. Of course, if you love the way you do your own makeup and hair, or you have a friend who’s really good at it – that’s a great option too!
Do you provide the outfits for my boudoir photography session?
Because of the variety of sizes and tastes in outfits for boudoir photography, clients must bring their own unique, perfectly fitting outfits to their session.
I don’t want my boudoir photographs on the internet
Right?? Me neither! I would love to share your boudoir portraits on my website, but will only do so if you give me written consent. Otherwise, they’re for your eyes only.
How long does it take to receive my boudoir portrait order?
Once you place your boudoir portrait order, each photograph you order is completely retouched to make you look your best. Depending on the number of images ordered, and the products you choose, your order can take anywhere from 3-4 weeks. Rush orders are available for an additional charge. If you need your portraits by a certain date, please keep this time frame in mind when scheduling your session.
What not to wear to my boudoir photography session?
Really, there are no rules. Well, okay, maybe there is one. Do not wear clothing, lingerie or underwear that is sooo tight that it squeezes into your skin, giving you that “muffin-top” look.
Do you suggest getting a spray tan before my boudoir photography session?
If you like the way you look with a tan – then go for it! However, please do it a day or two prior to your session.
How to get that “sexy face” for your boudoir photos
This one is probably the MOST IMPORTANT THING TO DO to make sure you are ready for your boudoir photography session. Drumroll please…Practice your “sexy” look. Take some cell phone pictures of yourself with mouth closed, mouth slightly open, small smile, big smile, no smile. Have fun with it! Then take a look at them and decide which expressions you like the best. Check out Victoria’s Secret and study the models’ expressions to help you nail yours. How will I view my boudoir photographs?
As our Boudoir Portrait client, you will be given your own personal viewing and ordering appointment where you will see your images and make your portrait and gift item selections. This appointment will be done online.
I have a friend who wants to have her boudoir portraits done too. Can we get a “deal?”
Sure! Bring a second person to have boudoir portraits done during your session, and you’ll both get an additional digital image from your session.
Will you come to my home for my boudoir photography session?
I’m sorry but all my boudoir portrait photoshoots are done in my beautiful, perfectly-equipped Indianapolis area portrait studio.

Boudoir Portrait Parties in Indianapolis
Celebrate you by getting your girlfriends together for a Boudoir Portrait Party. It’s a wonderful way to kick off a Bachelorette evening, to celebrate a birthday, or just to get together with friends, get out of the house, and do something fun!
Where are boudoir portrait parties held?
Boudoir portrait parties are held at my beautiful Indianapolis-area portrait studio.
The cost for boudoir portrait parties varies depending on how many people are involved and how many outfits each partier wants to be photographed in.
How many people must participate in order to have a boudoir party?
We must have at least 4 people participate in a boudoir portrait party.
What about hair and make-up for my boudoir portrait party?
There are several options for hair and makeup for your boudoir portrait party. Women can style their own hair and makeup, visit their favorite stylists prior to the party, or for an additional charge, we can arrange to have one of our style artists come to the party location to do hair and makeup for your guests.
How will boudoir party guests view their images?
Each Boudoir Party Guest will be given their own personal online viewing gallery where they will see their final images and make their portrait selections.
Will you post my boudoir photographs on the Internet?
I would love to share your boudoir portraits on my website, but will only do so if you give me written consent. Otherwise, they’re for your eyes only.
Boudoir Photography Session “Do’s & Don’ts”
- DO: See a sexy pose you like? Print it out and bring it with you. I’ll do my best to duplicate it during your boudoir session.
- DO: If it makes you more comfortable, please bring a robe to wear over your lingerie between outfit changes. Or you can just wander around the studio in your skivvies. Whatever’s comfortable for you is fine with me.
- DO: If you are bringing lace or sheer panties, please remove the tag so it does not show in your portraits.
- DO: See a sexy pose you like? Print it out and bring it with you. I’ll do my best to duplicate it during your boudoir session.
- DO: If you’re super nervous and worried you won’t be able to relax, feel free to bring an alcoholic beverage to take the edge off.
- DO NOT: Please do not wear any self-tanner on the day of your portrait session. If you want to get your tan on, do it the day before
- DO NOT: Please do not wear clothing, lingerie or underwear that is sooo tight that it squeezes into your skin, giving you that “muffin-top” look. Also, lingerie with an underwire is great for giving the girls a nice little boost.
- DO NOT: If one of your outfits is a corset – please do not come dressed in it, as it will leave “tracks” across your entire torso

I want you to be super happy with how you look in your boudoir photographs. A great look starts with great makeup and hair. I strongly encourage you to have your makeup and hair professionally styled before your boudoir photography session. It makes a world of difference!
